Champadevi Hike

Champadevi Hike is a scenic journey to a religious site called Champadevi, offering a unique adventure experience. Starting from Kathmandu, you’ll drive about 19km south to Pharping, passing by the DakshinKali temple. The hike begins in Pharping, an ancient town known for its Buddhist monasteries, where Guru Rinpoche is said to have achieved enlightenment.

The hike takes you through lush pine forests, gradually uphill for about half an hour, until you reach the northern ridge. From there, you’ll continue ascending to reach Champadevi Temple, located on the highest hill surrounding the Kathmandu valley. The hike takes only a few hours to reach the top of the Champadevi ridge.

During the hike, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, and Gaurishankar. After enjoying the scenery, you’ll descend the same way back to Pharping and return to your hotel.

Champadevi Hiking is best enjoyed during the spring (Mar-Jun) and autumn (Sep-Nov) seasons, when the weather is pleasant and the trails are accessible.
