This journey in the land of Himalayas starts in Kathmandu. Then you will visit some UNESCO World Heritage Sites at Kathmandu. With a peek into the Nepalese lifestyle, the trip heads for the Langtang region as the trek starts from Sybrubensi. A few steps into the wild and you get the feel of the remote setting. Mountains appear up north and towering hills form a gorgeous pool of valleys. Passing Lama Hotel, Ghodatabela, and Langtang Village, we reach Kyanjin Gompa. Here, we explore the local monastery and hike to the Tserko Ri (4984m). Retracing our steps, we reach Lama Hotel and head to Thulo Syabru.

Afterward, we head to Gosainkunda passing Shin Gompa on the way. Descending along Ghopte, Chisapani, and Sundarijal, the Langtang Gosainkunda Trek concludes in Kathmandu. The entire trip is made alluring with views of Langtang Lirung (7234m), Langtang Ri (7205m), and Dorje Lakpa (6966m). Moreover, the exploration of Langtang National Park on the trek allows you to relish the abundance of natural beauty and biodiversity in the national park. The Langtang Gosainkunda trek is crowded during August as pilgrims flock the trail to take a holy dip in the sacred waters of Gosainkunda. The best season for trekking in Nepal and this region is during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November).

Gosainkunda Lake Trek

If you’re looking for peace and quiet, the Gosainkunda Lake trek is perfect. You’ll see stunning snow-covered mountains and hear religious songs, which can make you feel more alive. This trek takes you through Langtang National Park, showing off the area’s natural beauty.

The journey starts in Kathmandu. You’ll explore UNESCO World Heritage sites and then get ready for the trek. An 8-hour drive takes you to Dhunche, passing by beautiful scenery like the Trishuli River and green hills. From Dhunche, you’ll walk to Thulo Syabru, enjoying the wilderness and glimpses of Tamang villages. The trail gets steeper as you head to Lauri Binayak, but the views of the Annapurna and Langtang Himalayas are worth it.

Walking along cliffs and barren land brings you to Gosainkunda Lake, a sacred spot where people pray. It’s said to have a religious connection to Lord Shiva. After exploring the lake, you’ll head back, passing through Chandanbari and taking a break at Shin Gompa. Finally, you’ll return to Dhunche and drive back to Kathmandu.
