Kanchenjunga, standing tall at 8586 meters, is the third highest mountain globally and has been a dream destination for many. It’s nestled in the northeastern part of Nepal, known as the Five Great Treasures of Snow. The Kanchenjunga circuit trek is a 25-day adventure that takes you to this mighty mountain through lesser-traveled paths, showcasing cultural and natural diversity with fewer tourists.
Our journey begins by exploring the myths and wonders of the Kathmandu valley. Then, we fly to Bhadrapur and take a long drive to Taplejung. From there, we trek through lush forests to Lalikharka, Phumphe Danda, Khesewa, and Mamankhe. Continuing along the banks of the Kabeli Khola, we reach Yamphudin, crossing suspension bridges along the way to Tortong. Trekking through the Lalung valley and Simbuwa Khola, we reach Cheram, where we spend two days exploring the area and visiting the Yalung glacier from Ramche.
After a visit to Oktang monastery, we head to Yalung Base Camp and then to Sele La (4480m). The trail to Ghunsa is through dense forests, and from there, we trek to Kambachen, navigating through boulders and rocks until we reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp, offering breathtaking views of the mountain ranges. We then retrace our steps back to Lhonak before heading to Ghunsa. Crossing Sumbung Khola, we reach Amjilosa and later Chirwa. Finally, we return to Bhadrapur for a flight back to Kathmandu, concluding our trip.
The Kanchenjunga circuit trek is challenging and technical, requiring professional assistance. At Mountain Trail Nepal, we offer decades of experience and expert guides to ensure your journey is safe and enjoyable at the best price possible.
