The 6-day adventure kicks off in Kathmandu upon your arrival. Initially, you’ll embark on a cultural odyssey through the historic streets of Kathmandu, where UNESCO World Heritage Sites await your exploration. Following this, you’ll secure your visa and board a scenic 1.25-hour flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa, traversing the majestic Himalayan range en route.

Lhasa, a veritable treasure trove of history and culture, unfolds before you. Here, you’ll marvel at iconic landmarks such as the awe-inspiring Potala Palace, the revered Jokhang Temple, the serene Norbulingka, and the bustling Barkhor Market. Delve into the spiritual realm with visits to the Sera Monastery and other significant cultural sites, each steeped in Tibetan Buddhism’s rich heritage.

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

    When you arrive in Kathmandu, a friendly representative from Danphe Adventure Treks will be waiting for you at Tribhuvan International Airport. They will take you to your hotel where you’ll check-in. Later, you’ll meet your tour guide to talk about your trip. In the evening, you can go out to explore the market or buy any gear, accessories, or snacks you might need for the tour. You’ll spend the night at the hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Visa Preparation

    You will give your passport and other documents to our representative, who will assist you in obtaining the Chinese visa. Then, you will go on a full-day sightseeing tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. You will visit places like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Pashupatinath. Your guide will explain everything about these sites, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. After the tour, you will return to your hotel in Kathmandu for an overnight stay.

  • Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa – Tibet (3650m)

    After having breakfast early in the morning, you will go to the airport. From there, you will take a flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. This flight will cover a distance of 609 kilometers and take you northeast over the Himalayan range. The flight usually lasts around 1 hour and 25 minutes. During the flight, you will get to see some breathtaking views of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga. Once you arrive in Lhasa, you will be driven to your hotel where you will check-in and spend the night.

  • Day 04: AM: Potala Palace PM: Sera Monastery and Norbulingka

    Today, you will go on a guided tour of Lhasa city. Your first stop will be the historic Potala Palace, which used to be the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. After exploring the Potala Palace, you will head to the nearby Sera Monastery. This monastery, located about 2 kilometers north of Lhasa, is one of the three major monasteries in Tibet. Finally, you’ll visit Norbulingka Palace, also known as the summer palace. It was built in 1755 and served as the residence for the Dalai Lamas during the summer months until the 14th Dalai Lama went into exile in 1959. You will spend the night in Lhasa.

  • Day 05: AM: Drepung Monastery PM: Jokhang Temple and Barkhor market

    Today, you’ll visit three more historical and cultural sites in Lhasa. First, you’ll go to Drepung Monastery, which is a Buddhist temple and one of the three great monasteries in Tibet. Then, you’ll visit Jokhang Temple, a peaceful Buddhist temple located in the Barkhor market area of Lhasa. After exploring the temple, you’ll have the chance to wander around the Barkhor market. This market has narrow streets and a public square surrounding the Jokhang Temple. Every day, pilgrims walk around the temple in a devotional ritual at the Barkhor market. You’ll spend the night in Lhasa.

  • Day 06: Fly back to Kathmandu

    You’ll fly back to Kathmandu from Lhasa today. The short flight will take you over the beautiful Himalayas, giving you stunning views of the Potala Palace, the Tibetan plateau, and the mountains. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, our team will take you to your hotel. During the flight, you’ll get to see the majestic Himalayan mountains of Nepal. You’ll spend the night at a hotel in Kathmandu.
